Reasons for Having Nose Surgery and Other Important Facts

By

Nose surgery is a common surgical procedure among individuals who want to improve the physical appearance of their face and also to enhance or restore the natural functions of their nose. This surgical procedure is geared toward increasing the size of an individual’s nose as well as the modification of its appearance by reshaping or narrowing the nose, the nostrils and even the upper lip when necessary.

Why People Go Through Nose Lift Surgery

People have different reasons for going through this type of surgical procedure but whatever they are, one thing is common among all the patients; all of them want to improve the physical appearance of their face particularly with their nose. Also, some people go through the procedure to bring back their normal breathing especially when the shape of their nose hinders the normal passage of air to the lungs. Some of the specific reasons for going through nose surgery include:

  • Injuries incurred in traumatic accident. This is one of the most common reasons why people go through nose lift surgery. Most accidents that involve the face normally hit the nose as it is the part that protrudes making it the specific facial part that takes the trauma. Rhinoplasty or nose surgery is usually conducted to restore the natural shape of the nose after the traumatic event.
  • Autoimmune disorder that affects the nose. Some autoimmune disorders cause the nose to be twisted or misshapen thus requiring medical intervention such as nose lift or rhinoplasty.
  • Faulty cosmetic surgical operation. Another reason why people go through nose surgery is due to the unsatisfactory result of cosmetic procedures involving the face or the nose that they went through previously that did not work out right. The nose is an important part of the face and its appearance would largely affect the way the face look in general. This is basically the reason why most people are concerned about the shape of their nose and the way it blends in with all the other important parts of the face.
  • Intra-nasal drug abuse. People who are addicted to illegal substance that requires snorting eventually ruins their nasal area and also affects the shape of their nose. To bring back the natural shape of the nose and its normal functions, a surgical intervention is most of the time needed.
  • Inherent physical abnormality. Nose surgery is also accessed by individuals who want to reconstruct their nose due to congenital abnormalities involving the face.
